Readers,
Happy Emmys!
and Shanah Tovah (Happy Jewish New Year) to you and yours.
May Top Chef win once more tonight, or sometime again in its nominated lifetime.
And may you ring in a sweet, healthy new year later this week.
Here are two books I am reading. They seem like a good choice to kick out the old, and ring in the new, year. They are small, slim, new-fangled, beautifully art-directed and produced books by super smarty-pants authors. Perhaps you once would have picked them up at the counter/cash register of a bookstore while buying your other weighty fiction or non-fiction tomes. But there aren't many of those any more. So consider this your impulse buy of the week.
Click on each of the images to read a little more about them:
If you do buy them, remember, Hannukah is just around the corner! Good for stocking stuffers and Secret Santa/Maccabee gifts, alike. Or just to start an argument at your next family gathering or boring dinner party!
The LZ Sunday Paperâ„¢ launched at the dawn of 2014. I didn't expect to catch the wave of massive gender-, race-, and political disquietude, but hey I guess it was just in the ether and it was easy to become part of the rising tide. I did expect to expose and recirculate interesting content that is about, and frequently by, women in politics, business, media, and tech, along with a dose of ultra-relevant culture. I think that culture comes high and low, not much in between. Every week I hope to deliver at least one good laugh.
The audience we have to reach is vast and not gender-driven.
You can use the tip-line here, for interesting things to include in a future edition. Or just to say hi. Or vent.
