Our Spring Break Road trip ended with a cancelled flight and longer-than-anticipated layover. Good news: I had time to create a Pop Quiz in Honor of April Fool's and S.A.T. Season:
Which of the following is NOT an April Fool's Joke?
So the answer constitutes a double April Fool's Joke. 1) You probably thought A & B couldn't possibly be true. April Fool's! Apparently they both are. 2) You probably thought "C" was going to be the Kimye cover and that therefore it was technically "TRUE," so I wasn't calling it a joke but was saying it was silly enough to be called one. April Fool's again! The entire world has already called it a joke and this is a funny way of doing it without insulting anyone over at Vogue, which one would not want to do, lest one might be under consideration for one's own Vogue cover and that would somehow bust up that deal. Trust me, that is not my concern.
Now you are probably vaguely annoyed or don't even get what the heck is funny about any of this. For this and some other reasons, I have never been a huge fan of the April Fool’s prank.
One thing I have always thought would be sort of interesting and/or amusing would be to swap a day in the life (as a youngster elementary schooler or all grown up for a day on the job) with my identical twin, if I had one. I do know several pair. And yet I have never heard from any of them that they did that. Which is a total waste of my fantasy. Actually, the bride from last week’s N’Awlins wedding is an identical twin. You can see her identically-beautiful sister to the left in the front row. That would have been quite a joke to pull off that switcheroo. Either at the ceremony or, certainly, later that night.
Many of you enjoyed some musings from the rest of the “down under” journey of the South Eastern U.S. last week. Here is the rest of the trip captured, for the most part, through signage rather than Kodak Scenic Lookout vistas, though the latter certainly exists in the 1200-or-so-mile swath we travelled on our journey.
Is this an idea for The Sequel?
This sounds like a Great Gig
Here is the star of the last series I green-lit at Bravo. Grits, by Bravo.
Wait, which way do we go in?
The friend of a friend sent me a list of things to do in Savannah
We did several of them, including visiting the 3rd oldest Synagogue in America. This fellow, immortalized in stained glass, almost made our kids grateful for their simply hyphenated, less make-fun-of-able name.
Half, I repeat HALF of the side dishes from our fried chicken lunch one day
That included neither of these, hopefully
I didn't need any instruction, as I wasn't planning to do this
No wonder kids hate museums. They teach insane things.
This would have come in handy several times in my life
This would have come in handy about 1 million times in my life
Wouldn't hand-washing rule #6 cover 1-5?
Will consider this strategy for next P.R. crisis
To remember, in case I turn into a gorilla or prisoner
Alternate side parking rules suspended, but do you still have to feed the meter?
We know where Walter White is working after the show went off the air.
Almost home. Airport signage/instructions, in case I get confused. This lady got confused, apparently, and picked a traveling outfit I had not considered.
Trip over. Almost April. No joke.
