Dear Sunday,
The LZ Sunday Paper is proud to publish on you! You are famous for many things including church-going, nfl-watching, and brunch-ing. If I had to handicap the trio of activities, I would have bet the proverbial farm that the least controversial one is the last one.
And I would have lost that farm, apparently. I'm sorry, Pa!
Each week (yes, Sunday, you have to share the week with six other inhabitants) there are a number of stories that engender a roiling debate. First, there's the news itself. Then there's usually a reaction, driven exponentially by a plethora of media outlets. Sometimes there's a "backlash." And then, if it's a real hum-dinger, there's a backlash to the backlash!
Topical Example: Ebola Crisis. Reaction. Reaction to the Reaction. Counter-Reaction.
And also this week…brunch.
Yes, brunch. Something you might even have been planning after a perusal of this Sunday Paper missive.
The Culprit that is spreading Brunch Fever: Brunch Is "For Jerks," says a 'The New York Times' opinionator.
Then, some very strong debate ensues:
'NY Times Op-Ed Declares Brunch Is "For Jerks" ' Response
And then, yes! Back-, Front-, and Side-lash are in evidence on Twitter. Truly a laugh-riot of one liners.
I don't care for brunch, mind you--never have! But I don't hold anything against people who do.
So have some Eggs Benedict as you read important news about women in business, digital, tech, media, sports, fashion, music, movies, tv, and culture.
And if you have a mimosa or two, we are sure that you'll have a good laugh, which is most certainly our intention.
Don't forget to send us interesting stuff you think we may have missed, and tell us what you think using the email link at LZSundayPaper.com. Forward to friends, peers, family, or strangers at your local brunch place using the link above and below in this very newsletter.
Many of the articles we don't have room to include in the weekend edition are tweeted out during the week! You can read/see them if you follow it/me/us @LZSundayPaper.
Enjoy!

The LZ Sunday Paperâ„¢ (soon to be registered trademarked and copyrighted) launched at the dawn of 2014. We expose and recirculate interesting content that is about, and frequently by, women in business, with a dose of ultra-relevant culture. We think that culture comes in size high, medium, and low. Our audience for this content is vast and not gender-driven. Every week we expect at least one good laugh. Send suggestions, clips, or names of people you think might enjoy this to LZSundayPaper@gmail.com.
