Readers,
Happy International Women's Day!
Raise your mimosa to all International Women, including us here in the U.S. who qualify as "international" to everyone who is somewhere else in the world.
Right now, a variation on a common phrase comes to mind. That phrase is: SSDD. It's a phrase I don't much care for. It's not the slightly impolite word. It's that I'm not a person that thinks that every day is much the same as every other even when routines and patterns would say otherwise. Every day is a completely different experience for me.
However, today I am thinking of another acronym: DSSS (Different Sunday, Same Story(s)):
The same stories are: It's still winter. And there's not a lot of diversity in business, especially tech.
This week I shall attempt to ameliorate both situations. I will head to Los Angeles, California, where "winter" is more like "spring," but with the added bonus of not having any rain. But the downside of not being in New York. And then I'll get a chance to post the Sunday Paper next week from Austin, Texas, home of the SouthBySouthwest Festival. In the spirit of the latter "same story," I'll be hosting this panel. Looking forward to both the weather and the business in both cities.
The LZ Sunday Paper is about, but not exclusively for, women in business, politics, digital, tech, media, music, tv, film, fashion, sports, and culture. This week lots of people emailed to say that they did, in fact, have a good laugh in last week's edition. That is a story I hope gets repeated today.
You can find the most recent copy of the paper and the Archive at LZSundayPaper.com. You can follow me or tweet me at @LZSundayPaper. You can send me a note or an item you think I should see at LZSundayPaper@gmail.com.
See you next Sunday from SXSW, and Cheers to Daylight Savings!
LZ

The LZ Sunday Paper™ (soon to be registered trademarked and copyrighted) launched at the dawn of 2014. We expose and recirculate interesting content that is about, and frequently by, women in business, with a dose of ultra-relevant culture. We think that culture comes in size high, medium, and low. Our audience for this content is vast and not gender-driven. Every week we expect at least one good laugh. Send suggestions, clips, or names of people you think might enjoy this to LZSundayPaper@gmail.com.
