Dear Readers,
Some inconsequential news items and thoughts from the week.
Last night I was at a very happening but low key youngster bar/restaurant. It was packed. Yet there was a seat open next to me at the bar for 25 minutes while I waited for my (young hip) dates to arrive. My guess is that the youngsters don’t realize that being old isn’t contagious.
Nice inadvertent shout-out to me and former creative teams on Twitter last week. Not a friend, but well-known, popular pop culture critic and all-around smart person listed several non-fiction & reality shows he wished had gone on for more than one season. I made 4 of 'em! Including one that was, in 2001, the recipient of my first ever Emmy Nom.
Speaking of The Emmys. Didn't watch -- apparently not so many other people did, either, according to the ratings -- but did enjoy my friend RuPaul's historic win for both best Host AND Show in the ultra-competitive Competitive Reality category. Go, Ru, Randy, & Fenton!
Last word on Serena/women's tennis. I just can't let go of the fact that men can go shirtless on the court for minutes at a time when they are perspiring and need to change their shirt but women can't be in their under-clothes/sports bra for a few seconds. I mean it is actually insane? What is it that people fear the women are uncovering? What are people worried about seeing? Tennis players wear a helluva lot more in their sports bras and skirst than the entire outfit of Olympic-sanctioned Beach Volleyball players. It seems like a players' protest, maybe a lawsuit waiting to happen? Tennis needs to get the raquet handle out of its lily-white you-know-what. If anyone understands this particular sartorial legislation, please email me.
Now, please read these more consequential items by and about women in business, politics, and the best of pop culture. If you aren't already a subscriber, sign up here. You'll receive the newsletter each week, straight to your inbox each Sunday morning. Please do keep sending me articles, photos, or videos you think are interesting here.
Apologies for MANY BROKEN LINKS in the past couple of weeks. It is fine in my test email and then they break down in the mass email. #Mailchimp I don't care for you, much. Thank you, faithful readers, for pointing them out. Sometimes the truth hurts but I need to know.

The LZ Sunday Paperâ„¢ launched at the dawn of 2014. We expose and recirculate interesting content that is about, and frequently by, women in business, with a dose of ultra-relevant culture. We think that culture comes high and low, not much in between. Our audience is vast and not gender-driven. Every week we expect to deliver at least one good laugh. Send suggestions, clips, or names of people you think might enjoy this to LZSundayPaper@gmail.com.
