Readers,
Tally ho!
This is coming to you from Oxford, England, and next Sunday from another European destination**.
Last week's trip to Los Angeles was superb, yet brief. Maybe those two attributes are not unrelated. Los Angeles never disappoints in its L.A.'ness. June Gloom, The Sunset Tower, Fred Segal, lots of cars.
It is also safe to say that American Airlines almost always disappoints, which is why ironically it actually never disappoints, because it is so very consistent that one does not usually get one's hopes up. But when one does, one is, indeed, disappointed. And late. And tired.
That said, I find the AA counter clerks and the flight attendants top notch and always willing to share information and commiserate. Perhaps you recall my previous travel stories of Tom, the best flight attendant in the world. He has been on the LAX/JFK/LAX route for as long as I've been flying for business. This trip, Tom was horrified and apologetic! Not because we were hours and hours late, but because I had to breeze past him and other denizens of the front of the plane on my way back to my middle seat in coach, due to a last minute decision to fly home early, on stand by. He truly looked stricken. I felt well taken care of, though. It was a new plane. (So why there was a "mechanical issue" I have no idea). He came back to update me periodically. And he gave me bottled water. I know if I had asked for the legendarily bad, but addictive, stash of front-of-the-plane warm mixed nuts I could have scored them. It may have been my imagination but I think he also influenced the usually-harried and non-nut-dispensing coach flight attendants to be extra nice to me and my row-mates, too.
So now I'm off again. My passport is in order. Global Re-Entry is neck and neck with TSA Pre-Check for one of the modern wonders of the world.
To the many new subscribers, who I see signed up by the score following my fun talk in LA with the amazeballs Ze (say "Zay" not "Zee") Frank last week, I hope you enjoy the following compilation of news and topical information about women in business, politics, entrepreneurship, film, tv, music, fashion, literature, sports, and pop culture.
You can peruse the Archive at LZSundayPaper.com.
You can send me a note or an item you think I should see here.
Sometimes there's so much interesting stuff out there I can't wait 'til Sunday so I tweet it during the week. Follow me @LZSundayPaper.
See you next week!
**Ciao! (That's a hint).

The LZ Sunday Paperâ„¢ (soon to be registered trademarked and copyrighted) launched at the dawn of 2014. We expose and recirculate interesting content that is about, and frequently by, women in business, with a dose of ultra-relevant culture. We think that culture comes in size high, medium, and low. Our audience for this content is vast and not gender-driven. Every week we expect at least one good laugh. Send suggestions, clips, or names of people you think might enjoy this to LZSundayPaper@gmail.com.
