Dear Readers,
Mid-Summer Report Card:
Health: C+ for Toe Infection, up from D-.
Phys Ed: Tennis is currently a B+, Down From A-
Housekeeping: B+/A- for handling combination of dog hair, cat hair, litter box, tropical storm sand/water/wind-blasted windows, a bajillion towels daily, a white couch, plus pop quiz: a hint of mold wrestled to the ground.
Catering/Food Service: A! Delicious, bountiful, healthy
Garden: Overall, A-for-effort and vast improvement over past years. However, this semester currently receiving D- for salt-blown, weedy, not-enough-sun vegetable/perennial garden, as well as annuals + herb deck pots all destroyed in storm. Combined, bringing down cumulative grade to C+. Note: grade-grubbing initiative with professor is under way.
Retail Therapy: It is Crate & Barrel, not I, who gets an F- for both work and attitude: poor customer service, logistics, communication, and inventory management; and that's grading them on a curve which allows for Pandemic Problems for which I have great sympathy. They are grade-grubbing, from me, and so far have refunded approximately $250.00 in shipping and a TBD gift card depending on outcome of order ever arriving…currently estimated at "Mid-September." Note: as always, the individuals who I finally get via the chatbot or Twitter help account are courteous, doing the best they can, but the overall corporate vibe is 'no can do.' Or, rather, we just don't know what we're doing and you, dear customer, are our last priority.
Any resources to recommend as an anti-racist, feminist ally? This week, I found this article highlighting a charity, Girls With Impact, which teaches financial literacy specifically in a virtual environment interesting and helpful.
I gotta run and close all the windows before it starts to rain and throw another 23 towels in the dryer. You should use that time to tumble-dry all the news of the week about women in politics, business, the arts, fashion, sports and pop culture. Discover, amplify, and share a voice you hadn't heard before. Have a laugh.
Send me more resources, plus any articles, photos, or videos you think I need to see right here.

The LZ Sunday Paperâ„¢ launched at the dawn of 2014. We expose and recirculate interesting content that is about, and frequently by, women in business, with a dose of ultra-relevant culture. We think that culture comes high and low, not much in between. Our audience is vast and not gender-driven. Every week we expect to deliver at least one good laugh. Send suggestions, clips, or names of people you think might enjoy this to LZSundayPaper@gmail.com.
