Happy Birthday to Me, Readers!
It is the one day per year that I am actually grateful for, not hateful of, Facebook. Facebook re-shared this photo which got posted years ago!
You will be happy to know that I am in close touch with most of the attendees of my 4th grade-- possibly 5th--birthday party. Those in attendance: Barbara, Barbara, Amy, Amy, Julie, Dindy, Naomi, and me. Huk-a-Poo and other '70's designers are well represented, just before the dawn of the blow-dryer era, apparently. And before wallpaper got tasteful and understated and "pattern on pattern" wasn't a thing, it was just design.
Among the best re-connections for birthday wishes this year: my second grade elementary school librarian, Mrs. Feldman, who gave me my first real job at the age of 7. Approximately 40 years later, now-Ms. Bildersee and I crossed paths again when we immediately, mutually recognized each other on a tour of my kids' prospective high school.
This year I also noticed that many more folks directly emailed, texted, and d.m.'d me, which I loved. And wonder if there is a trend to follow, there.
And I truly appreciate my podiatrist, dermatologist, financial advisor, and dry cleaner sending heartfelt wishes through the good ol' U.S. Postal Service.
I had a big editorial missive planned but I am going to continue to give myself a break and cut it short, since it's so hard for me to write well (or maybe even at all) about important subjects (or even non-important ones).
So goodbye until next week. My Holiday weeks' hiatus have left important and still-timely news stacked up in my curation mailbox, like planes circling over Kennedy which still need to land. So get ready for some supersized editions this week and for the next few. Politics, news, business, media, health, the arts, and pop culture. Hand-picked by me, for you.
Send me comments, along with articles, photos, or videos you think I need to see here. If you are not already, click here to become a subscriber.

And yes, still soberly yours, 19 dry January days into 2020!

The LZ Sunday Paperâ„¢ launched at the dawn of 2014. We expose and recirculate interesting content that is about, and frequently by, women in business, with a dose of ultra-relevant culture. We think that culture comes high and low, not much in between. Our audience is vast and not gender-driven. Every week we expect to deliver at least one good laugh. Send suggestions, clips, or names of people you think might enjoy this to LZSundayPaper@gmail.com.
