Readers,
We have a new spate of subscribers this week--Welcome!
My Pic(k) of the week is about EBay. It points to a study about how, even on EBay, which you'd think would be as gender-neutral a place as can be, goods sold by women are valued less than those sold by men. I think this stood out to me because, by chance, I happen to have four lots up on EBay right this second! Like other places in my life, it is no problem for me to be aggressive in terms of pricing and stating clearly what I think are fair terms. On EBay the most frequent outcome for me is that I re-list at a lower price and the stuff (usually) sells. I never gave it that much thought, similar to having the philosophy that the used goods market self-regulates, like with the pricing of real estate, and that market tells you in no uncertain terms what your stuff is worth. Also as in other parts of my life, it never occurs to me that someone is having a reaction that is partially mixed with gender bias, unconscious or otherwise. The data, in every instance, say it's the case. I 100% believe it.
The LZ Sunday Ppaer is a free market of hand-picked news items-- a round-up of this week's news by and about women in business, politics, digital, media, film, tv, fashion, sports, literature and general pop culture. There's usually alot to be concerned about--across party lines and representing varied opinion. And almost always something to laugh about.

The LZ Sunday Paperâ„¢ (soon to be registered trademarked and copyrighted) launched at the dawn of 2014. We expose and recirculate interesting content that is about, and frequently by, women in business, with a dose of ultra-relevant culture. We think that culture comes in size high, medium, and low. Our audience for this content is vast and not gender-driven. Every week we expect at least one good laugh. Send suggestions, clips, or names of people you think might enjoy this to LZSundayPaper@gmail.com.
