Readers--
It's the middle of August, the middle of The Olympics, and the middle of the Presidential Campaign.
Here is a personal anecdote and/or opinion about each:
mid-August: woke up both nights of the peak-viewing time of the annual Perseid Meteor Shower. Night one: Cloudy. Night two: Clear. Yet I couldn't figure out how to see the meteors. As a person who, if you recall, travels with a roll of black paper tape to blot out LED's and other irritating hotel room annoyances, you'd think I could spot thousands of star-like lights streaming across the universe. But alas, no. However, I was able to determine that neither the nearby lighthouse beacon nor the smoke detector motion sensor light on the ceiling that I had somehow never noticed before, were meteors. Double tired from all the waking up!
mid-Olympics: excited for all the great athletic performances and super-duper-excited for all the Kindergarten teachers who, in approximately 5 years, with have lots and lots of little girls in their classes named Simone.
mid-Presidential-Campaign: looking forward to:
--poll #'s widening further in concert with HRC not screwing up the (hopefully easy) win
--looking on the bright side, in case things go the other way, have been enjoying considering pros and cons of starting new life in other countries.
Take a high dive into this week's compendium of news and pop culture by and about (but not exclusively for) women in politics, business, politics, technology, media, film, tv, fashion, sports, literature and general pop culture. Special Olympic Village section, too. Handpicked, by me, for you.

Editor's Note: I must have been affected by a short bout of Olympic fever, possibly Zika, when I referred last week to having heard from an actual Olympics U.S. women's gymnastic star. Yes this person did send me an incredibly nice note, but she is a star Figure Skater, not Gymnast! Apologies!

The LZ Sunday Paperâ„¢ launched at the dawn of 2014. We expose and recirculate interesting content that is about, and frequently by, women in business, with a dose of ultra-relevant culture. We think that culture comes high and low, not much in between. Our audience is vast and not gender-driven. Every week we expect to deliver at least one good laugh. Send suggestions, clips, or names of people you think might enjoy this to LZSundayPaper@gmail.com.
