Readers,
Welcome to our specially themed Mother's Day edition of the Paper. It is certainly true that not every subscriber is a mother, but like the old saying goes, everybody has one.
I'm celebrating Mother's Day in L.A., with a large cast and crew of people also not at home on Mother's Day. Or whom at least won't be home 'til several more episodes of Beat Shazam are in the can. I am a big fan of my own mother. Hi, Mom! I am not a zealot about the holiday, however. For those who are, I hope you get a ton of roses or lilacs or eggs Benedict in bed. Or diamonds or a fur coat (real for the former, whatever your preference, for the latter).
As reported last week, I am also currently prepping to give a commencement speech. If you have any tips for about-to graduates, send them my way here. Or just send me stuff you think should go in next week's regular edition, where we'll be back to important news by and about women in politics, business, media, digital, the arts and pop culture. It's your weekly, must-read digest of news hand-picked by me, for you.
Back to the assorted articles below--some are really fun; some are newsy; some are sappy; and some might be upsetting, a few even more deeply so. But there are all sides of motherhood, even those that deal with loss and longing, so I wanted to include them because I hear and read all sorts of stories from all sorts of women and these are just a few of the ones I've come across from so many women who are willing to--or needing to--share.

For a city where people rarely walk, there are some terrific things to see when you do get a chance to take a stroll and look down. For that perspective on LA, check out @LZFloors. A sheaf of random xeroxed pages of Hebrew text blown around the orthodox Fairfax district might so far be my favorite. But everyone's favorite reality show judge's personal parking space seems to be the fan fave…
See you next week--from the West Coast, Part Deux!

The LZ Sunday Paperâ„¢ launched at the dawn of 2014. We expose and recirculate interesting content that is about, and frequently by, women in business, with a dose of ultra-relevant culture. We think that culture comes high and low, not much in between. Our audience is vast and not gender-driven. Every week we expect to deliver at least one good laugh. Send suggestions, clips, or names of people you think might enjoy this to LZSundayPaper@gmail.com.
