Happy Summer!
After last week's themed Father's Day edition, we're back with more business, media, tech and culture news.
For anyone new to the newsletter party: we are seeking to redefine a Sunday staple – the Sunday Paper. This one is delivered by the virtual papergirl to your digital front door. Our Sunday Paper is a digest of news about women – women in business, media & tech, cultural happenings, the arts, and some interesting related news that you might have missed coming across your (too) busy radar screen. Sometimes inspiring, entertaining, shocking, hilarious, but hopefully always worth reading, here is your new Sunday Paper. Mimosas not included.
One story this week has been brewing for many years. Dov Charney, the CEO & Founder of American Apparel, has a long, loud litany of accusations--even lawsuits--over sexual harassment and, in general, creating an extremely hostile, inappropriate work environment. He just got fired for a particularly egregious situation involving more variations on the theme. Plus, he apparently ran the business into the ground.
I have had many bosses. I have had only male bosses, fyi. We would probably mutually agree that we each have unique personalities, with a myriad of quirks and differences. And, over the course of decades in the workplace, I've seen plenty of unusual behavior--from somewhat inappropriate tirades (and other stuff) on film sets to mandated karaoke participation (and other stuff) at corporate offsites. However, no boss of mine has included this very NSFW behavior in his repertoire of questionable work behavior. At least I don't think so.
In other news: we're hitting the road! We'll see what "local" content means over the next coupla weeks, as we cover Williamstown, MA; London; NYC; and LA, all by next Sunday's edition. Or we'll just see what "jet lag" has to say about it all.
With all that travel, likely not a good deal of awesome internet connections (or sleep), so send stuff you think we may have missed, and tell people you think will enjoy it to sign up, at LZSundayPaper@gmail.com, or visit the new site!
See you for Gay Pride next Sunday and in the meantime…
Enjoy!

The LZ Sunday Paperâ„¢ (soon to be registered trademarked and copyrighted) launched at the dawn of 2014. We expose and recirculate interesting content that is about, and frequently by, women in business, with a dose of ultra-relevant culture. We think that culture comes in size high, medium, and low. Our audience for this content is vast and not gender-driven. Every week we expect at least one good laugh. Send suggestions, clips, or names of people you think might enjoy this to LZSundayPaper@gmail.com.
