Greetings from "Vacationland," aka the state of Maine. You'd know that if you had been paying close attention to license plates on your extensive summer road trip through the Northeast. Like some people we know.
This might be one of the shortest LZSundayPaper blog notes ever. That's because in Vacationland there is not much of a wireless network. So I have to hurry and hit "send" or this thing will twist its ankle on a rocky beach or slip into a summer camp hillside sinkhole. Like some people we know.
With time on my hands, staring at a whirring circular "refresh" symbol, I have christened this mysterious Northeasterly non-grid of non-existent fiber optics the "Sans-A-Wireless™" network. This low- or no-speed service is bundled free with your camper's tuition and is fine for Vacationland vacationers who don't have a newsletter to publish. Unlike some people we know.
Perhaps the Sans-A-Wireless network is an innovative "pivot" of the disruptive Sans-A-Belt™ trouser company, looking to move beyond its first and most awesome accomplishment which is to be the (self-proclaimed) World's Most Comfortable Pants.
To discover many other interesting facts about the Sans-A-Belt company, I've deployed my poorly funded yet widely depended upon LZSundayPaper One-Click Research & Insights Laboratory (O.C.R.A.I.L.--I should © that one) Here's a good reason why kids shouldn't use Wikipedia for research on their school papers: it says that Sansabelt "is French for 'without a belt.' "
In any case, if you are wondering whether you have to loosen your belt because you've eaten one too many lobster rolls (possibly like some people we know) don't worry: the O.C.R.A.I.L. system has told me that Sans-A-Belt slacks run in sizes 30 thru 70.
I'm sometimes asked whether The LZ Sunday Paper has much to offer a male readership. Today, I can definitively point to my extensive coverage of Sans-A-Belt --an exclusively male product (I hope)-- as evidence to support my claim.
Secondly, my sly references to the tech business sector, using words like "pivot", "innovation," and "disruption," are a way for me to telegraph to you that there is a plethora of articles about tech and digital in this week's missive. The tech sector is, as many of these articles conclude, very much by, for, and about men. Pretty much exclusively, in fact!
So there you have it. The Sunday Paper is definitively for the tech-savvy and/or beltless men out there.
Here are some more of my thoughts on the media landscape, as well as a bit more on the genesis of the Sunday Paper. It appeared last week in a new, top-notch, journalistically integral daily publication called "The Broadsheet," from Fortune Magazine.
For every gender that exists today and for those that may be invented in the future, The LZSundayPaper exposes and recirculates news about, and very frequently by women in business, media, and culture. The weekly clips progress in a roughly consistent progression: from general business news, through digital & entrepreneurship, on to media, arts & entertainment. Usually followed by a dash of sports, literature, and on to tons-o-fun high- and low-brow culture.
Don't forget to send us interesting stuff you think we may have missed, and tell people you think will enjoy it to sign up at LZSundayPaper@gmail.com.
Not yet a slave to social media, but inching towards slavishness, The LZSP has a new Twitter Handle. Follow it/me/us @LZSundayPaper.
Hope to be back to the cel and wireless network that I usually like to complain about, but perhaps will now appreciate more, next week.
Enjoy!
LZ

The LZ Sunday Paper™ (soon to be registered trademarked and copyrighted) launched at the dawn of 2014. We expose and recirculate interesting content that is about, and frequently by, women in business, with a dose of ultra-relevant culture. We think that culture comes in size high, medium, and low. Our audience for this content is vast and not gender-driven. Every week we expect at least one good laugh. Send suggestions, clips, or names of people you think might enjoy this to LZSundayPaper@gmail.com.
