Dear Readers,
Plug 1:
If you haven't already, please consider throwing a Follow or Like to The LZ Sunday Paper on Facebook, Insta and/or Twitter @LZSundayPaper. For a different perspective entirely, follow me here on @LZFloors. A lot of why I created this newsletter is to gather opinions and other voices, and then spread the Word. I have been improving my relationship with social media lately by taking apps off the phone and committing to higher quality, though limited, laptop time. And it really works. Be freed of the feed but enjoy the info.
Plug 2, which comes in mini-plug installments:
Two or three years ago, a person I had never met asked me to be on her podcast. I declined. Not because I didn't know her personally-- I knew the co-founder of her company and had worked with them as an agency, for years. I said no mostly because, having left NBCUniversal a short time before, I had begun an earnest detox from the interview circuit. It had become a sometimes-interesting, but increasingly pressure-full and un-fun blur of "keynotes", "q&a's", "fireside chats", and the ubiquitous "industry panel." The phrase "break out group" still gives me the willies. The Sunday Paper was my designated, self-selected sole outlet. I did it because I wanted to. Bonus: I didn't need a blow-out or a new outfit to do it.
Just this year, a "longtime reader/first-time emailer" (my favorite nod to sports radio lingo) contacted me. We began a dialogue about some of the links I had been sharing. She started to send me a couple of items. I connected her with some industry people she was seeking. For me and my many one-on-one emailers, it's like the perfect Closed Facebook Group of 2. Without the complaining and/or fake happiness.
In a bout of email cleansing, I was going through a Sunday Paper email account "to be dealt with" Folder. In it, I found the original ask for the podcast appearance. When I had said, "I can't right now but I will reconsider for the future," I had no idea that this very same person would have reconnected with me through a very different auspice. I couldn't believe it.
So I said Yes, I will be on your podcast. In the meantime she has really built a terrific broadcast with all sorts of innovative and interesting folks from the digital and media realms. We recorded ours. It was my first audio-only foray. I loved the conversation but… you know the old joke, "he has a face for radio"? I think I have a voice for silent movies. But, if you care to, have a listen!
So that's my Plug 1 and Plug 2, but here's the original. It changed my music&art life about 30 years ago.

The LZ Sunday Paperâ„¢ launched at the dawn of 2014. We expose and recirculate interesting content that is about, and frequently by, women in business, with a dose of ultra-relevant culture. We think that culture comes high and low, not much in between. Our audience is vast and not gender-driven. Every week we expect to deliver at least one good laugh. Send suggestions, clips, or names of people you think might enjoy this to LZSundayPaper@gmail.com.
