Dear Readers,
Many folks are writing to ask me why I don't write about my actual opinions on important topics. As most people know, if they know me at all, it's that I'm going to have an opinion or two. That said, the reason for this newsletter is to let the landscape of opinions on important topics be driven by what other professional people, mostly journalists but also folks who seem to be good at the craft of writing interesting things about important subjects. I read them plus loads of other stuff. Then I pick some of the stuff that I think are an interesting take on those interesting subjects. Then I hit "send" on a frighteningly burdensome-to-put-together newsletter templated by a company that's supposed to make it easy, but it isn't for me. And then I pray and hope that cyberspace doesn't catch it in its gooey, sticky, spam-suspicious net, and that it gets to you safely, pre-brunch/workout/family/friends-obligated Sunday.
That is my opinion about the point of the LZ Sunday Paper.
I am, however, taking people's questions to heart. If I were going to pick a topic on which to write/have a public opinion, I would certainly consider these very important topics and hope to write something that had one iota of interest beyond the 40 katrillion column inches already out there for you to read about. Topical issues could include those such as:
--The Election. Specifically, Donald Trump. And whether I, too, underestimated his likelihood of success. While people are excited that perhaps Bernie Sanders (and, first, Elizabeth Warren) "pulled Hillary to the left," the big joke (or potential conspiracy theory) is that Trump actually pulled the entire country to the right! How else to explain the weird turn of events where people are so not wanting Trump to be President that they are turning to Ted Cruz as a better alternative? Also, why did most everyone I know vote for Hillary but no one will say they like Hillary or are comfortable saying out loud that they actually want her to be president. That is a weird one! I like her, think for sure she is super-capable, there's no way in heck that the country will be worse off, and a good chance that it will be way better off, four years hence. And, yes, I love her tunic-length Maude-ish jackets that go with her amazing pant suits!
--The North Carolina ruling about Trans-accessibility to bathrooms and locker/changing rooms and whether or not that is "fair." I have thoughts about this, too. But it would be hard to get enough thoughts together in an elegant and nuanced on this topic. I am positive that people should have access to things to which they should be entitled to have access. But also, it is hard for me to imagine how I would have the patience to lay out the spectrum of ideology versus reality concerning how hard it is to imagine a physically mature man who identifies as a woman, or a grown woman who identifies as a man, who respectively have male and female genitals being super-comfortable being naked in a opposite (same?) sex locker room or spa or gym or dressing room and/or how others in said locker room would be comfortable, too.
Issues dragging on for years that I care deeply about, but about which am disinclined to write personally include:
--General terribleness of the state of gender pay-, social-, legal-, and economic parity (that is what the entire newsletter is about, so I feel like I kind of cover that)
--Economic disparity and general national anger and disenfranchisement
--Whether the digital culture is generally good or terrible for society
--Global crises too numerous to count
Then there are things that are literally heretical to admit I don't give a rat's ass about:
--Bitcoin (despite an interesting take on it, below)
--Game Of Thrones (sorry, Internet! Don't hate me, I just don't get it. But I really liked "The Hobbit" when I read it in 7th grade--does that count?)
--and possibly Virtual Reality
Last week's long editorial top-note turned into quite a missive. It must have really taken it out of me, or else I am all tuckered out from the re-telling of the story of the Passover this weekend, because I don't have a new, good story for you today. Enjoy this week's, none-the-less
I will continue to have an opinion on all the week's stories by and about women who care about news, business, politics, digital, technology, media, film, tv, fashion, sports, literature and general pop culture. My opinion actually doesn't matter. This news does. It's hand-picked. By me. For you.

The LZ Sunday Paperâ„¢ (It is supposedly trademarked and might be copyrighted--I'm afraid to ask my lawyer again because each time I do, I still don't understand the answer but get a bill for asking) launched at the dawn of 2014. We expose and recirculate interesting content that is about, and frequently by, women in business, with a dose of ultra-relevant culture. We think that culture comes in sizes high and low, not much room for medium. Our audience is vast and not gender-driven. Every week we expect to deliver at least one good laugh. We would deliver mimosas, too, if the internet could do so. Send suggestions, clips, or names of people you think might enjoy this to LZSundayPaper@gmail.com.
