Readers,
I forgot to wish everyone a Happy Valentine's Day last week, so I hope Friday was a loving and fun day, whatever and however you celebrated it, or not.
Romantic that I am, I celebrated by waking up at 4:50am to make a 7am flight from LAX back to New York, took an Uber to a high school basketball game in the middle of Brooklyn, and then got in a car and drove to Vermont for the long weekend, where I am currently enjoying good friends, food, and snow.
Here's a quick pop-culture newsflash tip o' the week:
If you liked the wonderful Fleabag, you might like to see Phoebe Waller-Bridges' earlier series, Crashing.
When I was naming TV series and movies for the last 30 years or so, every lawyer in the world told us that we ran a high risk of a lawsuit if the name we chose for our series basically had the word "The" in it, for fear that it would be an infringement on the Intellectual Property of some other TV show with even a vaguely similar name.
So I'm not sure what the people were thinking when the fine folks at HBO named this series, which I also enjoyed.
Hope you have a lovely long weekend, journeying or at home. This week, I hope to travel from 8 to 80 (degrees), headed to Miami for a quick biz trip. Though the ballroom or conference room or wherever we'll be housed will likely be in the frigid-to-freezing range. Somewhere in the range are the cultural temperature-taking of the most important, thought-provoking news about women in politics, news, business, media, health, the arts, and pop culture. Hand-picked by me, for you, each week.

The LZ Sunday Paperâ„¢ launched at the dawn of 2014. We expose and recirculate interesting content that is about, and frequently by, women in business, with a dose of ultra-relevant culture. We think that culture comes high and low, not much in between. Our audience is vast and not gender-driven. Every week we expect to deliver at least one good laugh. Send suggestions, clips, or names of people you think might enjoy this to LZSundayPaper@gmail.com.
