Readers, this is our final week before the Autumn-knell Labor Day bell is rung. And then it's off to the school, work, high-holy-day (if you're into that sort of thing) races.
Today, we're taking a good long moment to ponder the pop-culture double header of the VMA's tonight and the Emmys tomorrow. That's alotta popcultcha.
Always: The LZSundayPaper exposes and recirculates news about, and very frequently by, women in business, media, and culture.
Usually: the weekly clips progress in a roughly consistent progression: from general business news, through digital & entrepreneurship, on to media, arts & entertainment.
Frequently: followed by a dash of sports, literature, and tons-o-fun high- and low-brow culture.
Today: The Sunday Paper starts with a nod to the VMA's (I don't think you'll miss this one) and kicks off with an Emmy Roundup of our own.
Special Bonus Pop Quiz:
Which cover model of Sports Illustrated would you like to look at? Would like to be on? Your daughter?
In other pop cult mania, in the unlikely event you haven't been deluged (pardon-the-expression) with the massive sharing of the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, take a moment to actually know what the disease is. Then make your video, but I think it should be posted only if you donate. Also, maybe you can use this phenomenal pop-culture-meets-medical-meme moment as a chance/mandate to write a second check to a foundation or institution that funds research on a disease that means something to you, personally. Ours is Alzheimer's.
Okay, sorry to dump a bucket of ice water (get it?) on the normally important-yet-somewhat-frivolous Sunday Paper proceedings…Don't forget to LAUGH at at least one thing, today.
And send us interesting stuff you think we may have missed, and tell people you think will enjoy it to sign up at LZSundayPaper@gmail.com.
Follow it/me/us @LZSundayPaper.
Be back next week with a special edition. Hope we all have a slow news week.
Enjoy!
LZ

The LZ Sunday Paperâ„¢ (soon to be registered trademarked and copyrighted) launched at the dawn of 2014. We expose and recirculate interesting content that is about, and frequently by, women in business, with a dose of ultra-relevant culture. We think that culture comes in size high, medium, and low. Our audience for this content is vast and not gender-driven. Every week we expect at least one good laugh. Send suggestions, clips, or names of people you think might enjoy this to LZSundayPaper@gmail.com.
