LZ Sunday Paper Newsletter: The "Too Much Of A Bad Thing" Edition

Dear Subscribers and Readers, veterans and newbies alike,
I did a bunch of LZ Sunday Paper logistical housecleaning today.
I clicked over into my "clip file" where I stockpile most of my potential picks for the week. They stack in order from most recently pulled to most dated. I had in excess of 500 articles and links that I had stowed away over the past several months, but didn't end up using in either the newsletter itself or in my Twitter feed.
When I started the newsletter over 3 years ago, some weeks my list would actually be light. I'd have to go look around the web late on Saturday to see what I missed. So it was helpful to have stowed a few less time-sensitive articles from the previous week or two.
Over the past few months, however, I basically pulled stuff in all week, as per usual. But the amount became mountainous. Like by the end of the day Sunday, even, there would be scores more that I could use for another complete edition on the same day!
Just those couple of years ago, when I think back, I swear there was less coverage of this kind of in-depth news about women, both the good and the bad. I don't know if less "coverage" is even accurate, but it sure feels like there were, in aggregate, less media outlets, fewer publishers, fewer journalists focused on this area, and certainly less sharing than there is today. For business news and cultural news, too, it is my sense that there is just way more news being reported and written about relating directly to women in business, digital, tech, and culture. I don't know what's been unleashed but it is something.
There is new news every micro-second regarding this tsunami of harassment and sexual assault reporting. From yesterday's big money and its ensuing cover-up news about a story that's over a year old, to even more disgusting, current pervert/angry abuser movie mogul news (read past the rehash of the potted plant!), to news of a spate of firings of media folks you may or may not have heard of. The fast and the furious was never a better title than for the news cycle right now.
I mean…doesn't it feel like there are few men in media and everywhere else who haven't been found to be pinchers, oglers, cat-callers, gropers, tongue-thrusters, slobberers, massage requesters, dick-pic senders, assaulters, abusers and/or rapists?
Well, there are. I know some of them and I'm sure you do, too. But honestly.
Men and women of the LZSP diaspora: let's keep on helping to expose and recirculate important, interesting content that is about essential news about women in politics, business, media, and tech, along with a dose of ultra-relevant culture.
You can always use the tip-line here, for anything you'd like me to look at.

The LZ Sunday Paperâ„¢ launched at the dawn of 2014. We expose and recirculate interesting content that is about, and frequently by, women in business, with a dose of ultra-relevant culture. We think that culture comes high and low, not much in between. Our audience is vast and not gender-driven. Every week we expect to deliver at least one good laugh. Send suggestions, clips, or names of people you think might enjoy this to LZSundayPaper@gmail.com.
