About a month ago, I spotted this amazing cat-tote on the subway. Definitely felt used, as in Salvation Army rather than a hipster vintage store. The cats were just strangely drawn enough to be compelling, but the bag's sublime nature felt unironic, not hip. I was so moved that I texted it to my daughter on the way home from a meeting. She liked it, too!
Yesterday, she was walking down the street and saw…the cat-tote! And texted me a pic. It is impossible to know if it is the same lady carrying it or not. I mean even if you don't adore this tote as much as we do, I think you might admit that in a very big city with many millions of people carrying all manner of tote, it is quite an unbelievable coincidence.
It gives me a slight thrill, of the much less chic Bill Cunningham nature.
