Happy Pride!
As a long-time Greenwich Village dweller, I've had approximately 29 years to proximally celebrate and appreciate Pride. This week in London, I was delighted to see a Prideful London sporting general rainbowification in and around the City.
On my first-ever visit to Stonehenge, I saw several dress-upped druid-like trekkers, amongst the throngs. This was likely due to having chosen to visit mere days after the summer solstice. No rainbow garb was in evidence.
Back in London, at Ealing Studios, I had my second/last tourist activity. It is very fun to visit someone else's film or tv set, especially when it coincides with being a big fan. Though, I confess, my always-producer's heart was pounding as the cast and crew raced to get the last shot in time to break for lunch (so they didn't incur a "meal penalty"). Did they get the shot off? We shan't reveal any season 5 secrets, shalln't we? One thing I can reveal is that I saw no evidence of any rainbow garb in the Downton wardrobe trailer.
Every city seems to have its own way of doing business. Nuances of language and behavior vary greatly even when the business challenge is the same. Over the years, I've found that London is no exception. I am delighted to have re-gotten a taste of it this week. I look forward to learning more, as work and travel dictate. And, to self-consciously but unironically using words like "whilst" and "quite," and in general sounding like a strangely cadenced version of meself whenst I retourne to Londontowne.
For now, tempted as I am to make this an entirely UK and/or Pride-themed edition, this week there's simply too much interesting and important news of a general nature that is relevant to the LZSundayPaper. But, do think about the awesome progress we have made as you enjoy the especially Pride-ful stories.
Speaking of Constitutional rights and a Tea Party (the actual one from almost 250 years ago as well as the ones I had in London last week, not the new-fangled other one), is it possible next week will constitute The July 4th Edition? Let's just say The Grucci Brothers are getting busy.
Finally, many of you have inquired: yes, I do sleep on planes and have been quite successful this week with the WIlliamstown/NYC/London/NYC jet-lag-free jaunt. Let's see who's laughing (or sleeping) last when I've gotten LA/NYC/Williamstown/VT/NYC--including a 2-night stint in a tent--done by next Sunday's edition.
It may or may not be deemed ultra-patriotic, but the LZSundayPaper exposes and recirculates news about, and very frequently by, women in business, media, and culture. Our audience for this content is vast and not gender-driven. Every week we expect at least one good laugh. Send us stuff you think we may have missed, and tell people you think will enjoy it to sign up, at LZSundayPaper@gmail.com.
Enjoy!

The LZ Sunday Paperâ„¢ (soon to be registered trademarked and copyrighted) launched at the dawn of 2014. We expose and recirculate interesting content that is about, and frequently by, women in business, with a dose of ultra-relevant culture. We think that culture comes in size high, medium, and low. Our audience for this content is vast and not gender-driven. Every week we expect at least one good laugh.
