Dear Daylight Savings Observers,
Talking to many people and reading much commentary on the primaries, I understand that for weeks, now, people have been having a tough time understanding what to take seriously and what is a joke. Now it appears that folks are realizing that this is a potentially acute, if not grave, situation.
Some days I look at the whole thing and it reminds me of some sort of '80's performance art experience. Some days it's even more lighthearted and laughable. Other days it's just a nightmare, no art or humor involved. Just a couple of days ago, it was really weird when a different Presidential Candidate celebrated Opposites Day!
Last night I had a modern nightmare, a contemporary anxiety dream. I was trying to get home. Really had to get home. Urgent. I was a bit panicked. Didn't know what was wrong. Had to get home. And I couldn't. Because I COULDN'T CALL AN UBER. I am dead serious. In the dream, I couldn't find my phone, it was gone. Noone would let me borrow their phone. An Uber passed by, and I saw my second grade teacher, Mrs. Lubin!, in the back seat. She waved at me. I spied another black car that was a sedan, and I asked if it was a regular car service and he said "no, I am an Uber!" I don't know how one showed up for me, but it did. I had tons of cash but it didn't help because they wouldn't take it. I was so upset and panicked that I begged and pleaded with the driver. He said okay. We started out driving in what looked like a classic Uber black Toyota but somehow transformed into an almost Mad Max: Thunder Road level vehicle. So I got even more upset and panicked and screamed that I had to get home! And then he THREATENED ME WITH A BAD RATING!
I am now really even more depressed that real life is an actual nightmare and my actual nightmare is about an App.
