Greetings!
What was the news this week? I can't get a handle on what the big stories are. But we found a bunch of interesting ones, as you know we usually do. There's lots about movies & TV! Sports, tech, and advertising, too.
re: the above pic. This was a sign I recently saw in a restaurant, funnily/ironically alerting patrons as to which restroom was for which gender. Get it? It reminded me that I have another looming catalogue project. This one is about signs in bathrooms instructing women as to how best to dispose of (the widely euphemism-ed) "feminine products." There is quite a variety in signage and I have a couple of hundred pictures representing them. Lots are blurry and dark because the back of stall doors frequently doesn't have the best photographic lighting conditions.
I'm thinking about what to do with the photos. In olden times, like the '90's, it seems like I could have had a photography exhibit in a gallery, if I rented it out myself and hung up all the pictures and invited my friends. Which I sort of did when we took a picture of the five members of my family for 365 days in a row. And then mounted and hung the 1,725 pictures and invited people over to view them. The 365 days was the year that started the day our youngest child was born and ended the day he turned one. Now we take a picture every 5 years on his birthday. We're counting down to 1/9/18 for the next installment! We will all be 16 years older than the first ones we took.
Back to the Ladies Room pictures. Since God and other entrepreneurs have invented some handy stuff since the family photo project, now I guess I could start a Tumblr or other site and that would suffice to display my bathroom pix.
So here is an example of a funny/true/ironic picture from the series that would be on my Tumblr. If I had one. Who thought of the word "Scensibles," I wonder.
Speaking of technology, some talented busy web-design beavers are going to make The LZ Sunday Paper process a whole lot easier for all the not-yet-signed-up folks. Soon, we'll finally have a web-page that facilitates subscriptions instead of this confusing and slightly creepy GoDaddy page you get when you go to www.LZSundayPaper.com. So in the meantime, don't hesitate to let your friends, peers, and family know they can sign up for this newsletter by emailing us at LZSundayPaper@gmail.com.
The SundayPaper is excited to be publishing in April. It seeks to expose and recirculate interesting content that is about, and for, and very frequently by, women in business. We cover culture, in sizes high, medium, and low. Our audience for this content is vast and not gender-driven. Every week we expect at least one good laugh.
Cheers!
LZ
