The "5-Star" Edition
Folks,
Happy New York Fall Fashion Week 2024, and Congratulations to Belarussian Aryna Sabalenka on her well-earned win!
For my part, I am watching and reading about both, still not in tip to shape to attend either. Somehow both a disappointment and a relief, to be honest.
With sciatic incapacitation, I realize that with no cooking, cleaning, getting dressed, going out, doing excercise or anything else, for that matter, I have about 10 extra hours per day. That’s a lot. So when I get my lists together and remember exactly what I have watched, read, or listened to in my Tylenol-with-codeine-induced daze, I will share my thoughts.
As you know from the pas couple of weeks, if I’m halfway focused, it’s a matter of prioritizing the need to promote my book, whose publication date didn’t give two hoots about an L4/L5 disc compression. But— We did it! A great launch last week, reaching #1 in our category on Amazon and earning a “Bestseller’ tag, as well. Phew. I will now always be a #1 bestselling (Amazon) author!
A final ask from this author, to keep the momentum going and the insatiable algorithm satiated. Please buy a book, And if you have— thank you! If you can, take 5 seconds to leave a review. It is the single most important thing to keep the book surfacing for other people to find and enjoy.
The book is for literally everyone, but this newsletter is (primiarily) for women. I heard from one of my favorite authors, Xochitl Gonzalez, who said it’s “An absolute gem. So many ‘firsts’: Women, trustees of color, first-generation graduates. It’s a journey through time. An exploration of identity. A must-read.” Genius designer and entrepreneur, Liz Lange, said “It’s rare for such intimate and candid letters to be made public…which blend historical significance with heartfelt, profound narratives.”
And an everyday consumer wrote the first review on Amazon, saying it’s “A must read for anyone passionate about civic engagement. The book offers a journey through time and an exploration of identity, making it a must-read for anyone interested in social change and community building.” Thank you, Cat!
Enough with the bragging, right? I guess that’s why God invented the ‘humble brag,’ but we all know that’s even more annoying than the proud crowing and asking for friends’ support (I hope!)
I’m hoping to support YOU but delivering yet another edition of the LZ Sunday Paper, delivering all the most important stories from politics, business, health, the arts, and pop culture. Please mentally award me a 5-star review, if nothing else.
If you like this week’s edition and aren’t already a follower or a subscriber, please become one!
