The "¯\_(ツ)_/¯" Edition
Dear Readers,
Hanukkah can arrive as early as November 28th and as late as December 27th. It was, indeed, as early as it could be this year. It felt almost silly to celebrate it on the Sunday of Thanksgiving weekend. Christmas, however, can be neither “early” nor “late.” So why does it feel like its arrival, this coming Saturday, is almost absurdly “early”? Maybe because it’s been 60-degrees in New York City. Or maybe because everyone. has. covid. again. Which makes it feel like the time/space/sanity continuum is collapsed. Sigh.
We will hope to be away, staying care- and Covid-free. You can check your inbox next Sunday to see how the battle of the publishing- and vacation spirits turns out. Hard to tell the winners from the losers these days.
