The "Hiatus" Edition
Hello and apologies, folks—
I have been a delinquent publisher for a couple of weeks due to unforseen sciatic circumstances. Remember how I signed off three weeks ago?: Here’s a reminder:
“Next up next weekend: Mixed Doubles tourney! This is a tough one. Wish me luck!”
Yes, three weeks ago I was happily anticipating my tournament. I had noted a bit of lower back strain all week. That morning I also noted a deep glute issue. I was seeded so that I got a bye in the first round of the tourney so I thought that’s good, only two matches today. Felt a bit poorly in the first round, somehow won (thanks, Jeremy!). Next round, felt a substantial bit more poorly. Yes, I really, really, really should have forfeited but I had a stupid Olympics narrative in my head where they kept talking about the guy with raging Covid who was supposed to win the Gold was like okay I’ll just do this and win the Bronze. Which he did. But I did not (sorry, Jeremy!).
But I did win an ice pack, ingested enough Aleve to build a model igloo, and had a weekend strategy session with my neurologist/orthopedist. Hence, no Sunday paper for a couple of weeks.
So, here we are. While we are not back to 100% (let’s call it 37 and rising) we are happy to be publishing. But we are keeping this short and sweet on a long and sweet holiday weekend.
It’s all the news from this week’s (and a bit of catch-up) goings on— by, for, and about women. From Politics to Pop Culture and most everything in between. And on that note (Politics), there certainly has been a lot of news about one women in the world, specifically in Washington, D.C.! Cheers!!
But just a heads up — you will be hearing from me tomorrow — yes on Monday, a first! — on another topic. One that will delight you and help me, hopefully! Here’s a hint:
In the meantime, have a good LZSP read.

See you next week (and tomorrow)!
Any editing errors please blame the pain meds — to which I’m not addicted, btw. They are so hard to get an Rx for it’s a miracle even more people aren’t running to the street for the illegal kind. More on that, later.
Most importantly, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ABBEY!
