The "IYKYK" Edition
Folks,
When you RSVP ‘yes’ to a party, that means you have to go. So I gotta hurry up and figure out what could possibly be in my closet that would make me excited to go out on yet another dreary, wet (and about to be wetter), cold January night in New York City. Next week I will be in warmer and hopefully sunnier climes, kicking off a few months of travel which I am excited about.
This is boring— apologies. Some other thoughts:
Jet lag is pretty much done, but the consumption of roasted green tea, silken tofu, and natto isn’t. For breakfast, even! Weird.
I haven’t watched even a split second of the Australian Open. Also weird.
I would not say I have my finger on the proverbial pulse, what with not caring much for Oppenheimer, but am happy that Poor Things made a strong showing. I am very much in the majority of everyone but the Oscar voters (of which I am not, only the Emmys) when I share my immense peeved-ness that Barbie (Greta Gerwig and Margot Robbie) got robbed.
Catching up on what everyone already knows— Fargo, the TV show, is quite compelling! As long as I’m avoiding social obligations I might as well power through four seasons of bloody craziness with superb acting and plotting so I can chat about season five which everyone seems to adore!
The prospect of the politics of the next nine months, and possibly the next four years and nine months, is a bit debilitating.
Okay not only is this still boring, it’s depressing!
Every week, it is not my intention to bore or depress. Rather, it is to serve up the best and most important news of the week by, for, and about women, delivered straight to your inbox. Politics, Pop Culture and everything in between.
