The "Meat II" Edition
Dear Folks,
Happy Indigenous Peoples Weekend!
I appreciate that I got a tremendous amount of positive reader feedback on last week’s meat missive. Who knew that butcher content would be so popular? I will say, however, that I have rarely gotten more feedback from — no joke— men. Thank you, male-identifying subscribers. I always enjoy our dialogues and thank you for the media recomms. Needed ‘em.
I can go deep on butchers, that is for sure. So skip down if you prefer not to have a second helping. It was so surreal to go to my Long Island butcher (reminder— this is butcher numero uno, bar none) on Friday on my way to the beach. I told Pete, Sr. that I went to the NYC Ukrainian butcher (very, very special number 2). It was almost like I had to bring up my butcher infidelity, kind of like a confession of disloyalty. My Pete & Pete, Jr. relationship is unshakeable, however. When I started to tell Pete about all the different sausages and cuts of meat and kinds of deli-meats I don’t see anywhere else, he then related that there is an enclave of Polish butchers near where he lives and that he, too, goes in just to see all the different things they have and ‘get inspired.’ That’s a wow of an idea. A butcher busman’s holiday, so to speak.
Okay, done with butchers.
Travel alert: headed to Providence next weekend and then the West Coast. Let’s see how the unpredictable dynamic of productivity and connectivity play out. In the meantime, this week’s edition is densely packed, so it should last you!
Here it is, all the grass fed, anti-biotic-free cuts of news by, for, and about women, delivered straight to your inbox. Politics, Pop Culture and everything in between.
