The "Three-Day Three-fer" Edition
Dear Readers,
Wine may not be “over,” but I will tell you that based on my recent observations of women in my world(s), they are munching edibles, downing Xanax, and — this has been creeping up for a while and is now ubiquitous at every get-together— smoking cigarettes! I am not surprised and am in some ways very jealous! Maybe this was all happening in our sequestered Covid-safe houses and now that we are out and about it has just become more visible. Maybe it’s that menopause sucks and the medical establishment has yet to articulate and publicize non-cancer and non-addictive ameliorative solutions. Maybe it’s that the sweetspot of being a 50+-year-old is that your kids are (finally) out of the house and without the doublestandarditis staring you in the face at the breakfast table every morning you go back to your naturally fun self. Or try to revive your old fun self which has become…not so fun. Will continue to monitor this trend but the many writers who read this and publish in fancy publications, there is a great “Say No to No Smoking” story waiting to be written.
Don’t Say No to what I think is a superb edition of the LZ Sunday Paper. It is beyond chock full of important news by, for, and about women, delivered straight to your inbox. Politics, Pop Culture and everything in between. Every Sunday.
