The "Well, Whaddya Know..." Edition
Greetings, all—
Happy Mother’s Day!
You’ll see below that I have a few links to some Mother’s Day-oriented fare. Here’s some bonus content. A longtime reader and Top Contributor to the LZ Sunday Paper and I were conversing this week. Mostly it was about the awesome links she was sending. One of those links was good, but a little “meh.” The theme was straightforward, it was a website’s “Advice from Mothers of our Staffers” kind of thing. I said hey, I have one that I like more — and you’ll see why tomorrow! So now all of you will see why, after you scroll down to this week’s What’s Not To Love About…?, or WNTLA, as we say here at the LZSP.
In our ensuing dialogue, she gave me her own mother’s advice which, frankly, tops everything:
‘The great thing my mother said was “Never save anything for “good.” She believed in using all her nice things. If something broke - oh, well. She hated the idea of things put away to be used once a year. So, meals were set with nice china, glassware and silverware, for example. I think there’s wisdom in that. She wore her nice jewelry. She also said, “A woman who marries a man for his money, earns every penny of it.” And she told me once that oral sex was “perfectly natural.” ‘
Words to live by!
Thank you, Kathryn, and thank you Kathryn’s Mom!!
If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a thousand times— the information I run each week is *not* just for women— it should be of great interest to men, too!
Read the rest of this week’s important news by and about women, delivered straight to your inbox each Sunday. It’s a take on what’s news.
