The "See Ya/Wouldn't Want To Be Ya. or Me. or Anyone, Really"" Edition
Dear Readers,
I will be back to you soon with everything there is to know about Politics, Pop Culture and everything in between. I pick the essential list of the most important content about women(almost) every week, just for you. I bet you didn’t get through every fabulous piece to read last week so have another go at it. It’ll keep you busy and saner then reading this week’s news.
I promise—if you subscribe, (almost) every Sunday morning The LZ Sunday Paper will show up in your inbox.
If you don’t, you can follow me for some fun and / or important things in between Sundays, mostly on Instagram @LZSundayPaper because I can barely find anything in the right place on Facebook anymore, including my own feeds; and Twitter is still a Jackless cesspool which I might be done with.
Okay I feel guilty. At the very least, if you are stuck and looking for something to stream or read (or venture to an empty movie theater if Omicron has already come and gone in your household):
YES to “Don’t Look Up!” I bought it hook, line, and sinker, even the over-wrought parts. I just could not get enough of reality schmeared with satire, sex, and clever, funny shit. Don’t believe the haters! Though some people ‘got it.’
YES to “West Side Story.” DO believe the haters because they’re right, but watch it anyway because even Steven Spielberg can’t ruin the music, lyrics, and dance.
YES to Sally Rooney’s third novel, Beautiful World Where Are You? Similar to my strange connection to The White Lotus, how is it possibly that I can identify so strongly with every single (white, heinous) character in this book? There is almost no petty, non-sensically behaving 20-something yarn with tons of detailed, yet unrealistic sex and relationship antics that does not amuse and/or move me. I devoured it.
And even if this is not a good example of why people love this thing, if you’d like to tell a friend about the Paper, please do:
I will publish again, so if you have a story you think I may have missed, email me at LZSundayPaper@gmail.com.
P>S> For those who do follow me on Insta and have sent well wishes— yes the D-Z’s are 3/5ths Omicrombulo-tastic! So far, the worst symptoms are annoyance, resentment, and disappointment. Good luck to the other two D-Z’s, though, and (maybe, maybe not) see you all next week. Or next year, maybe. Can I get a “Covid-Free in ‘23!”? Here’s to it!
